Medicine and food homology of Glabridin

  Glabridin is one of the main brass components in Glycyrrhiza glabra. It shows a strong anti free radical oxidation in the cytochrome P450/NADPH oxidation system, which can obviously inhibit the free radicals produced in the metabolic process of the body, so as to avoid the free radical oxidative damage caused by oxidation sensitive biological macromolecules (low density lipoprotein LDL, DNA) and cell wall. Thus, some pathological changes related to free radical oxidation can be prevented, such as atherosclerosis, cell senescence, etc. In addition, glabridin has certain effects of lowering blood lipid and lowering blood pressure.

Glabridin can reduce phlegm, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, anti filtration pathogens, anti hepatotoxin and antibacterial. Because Glycyrrhiza uralensis has these therapeutic effects, it has been extensively studied in medicine and food.
