Glabridin is a chemical compound that is found in the root extract of licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra). It is used as an ingredient in cosmetics with benefits of inhibiting tyrosinase, dopachrome tautomerase and activity of DHICA oxidation enzyme. It helps in the reduction of melanin synthesis, skin-tone lightening, and reduction of age-spots, as a smoothing agent, in the prevention of oxidative damage and as an anti-microbial agent.
