TECA has obvious antimicrobial and antiviral activities. Centella asiatica glycoside, an effective component of Centella asiatica, has no specific binding with any other tissues because of its rhamnose group. As a result, asiaticoside binds to any drug as a glycoside. Compared with the pure Centella asiatica preparation, the liposome prepared by the combination of Centella asiatica test and liposome has better anti-tuberculosis and leprosy characteristics. At the same time, it was also found that if asiaticoside liposomes were further combined with other drugs, they could obviously enhance the pharmacodynamic effect of the combined drugs.
Animal model experiment
In animal models of skin wounds, skin tuberculosis and leprosy, TECA can significantly promote the increase of local leukocytosis, the proliferation of connective tissue and vascular network, the increase of anti-tension strength and the acceleration of wound healing, whether by oral, intramuscular or subcutaneous implantation. In vivo and in vitro experiments using asiaticoside orally and externally also confirmed that asiaticoside could increase hydroxyproline content, tensile strength and collagen content in healed tissue, and had better epithelialization rate and appearance after healing, whether in normal or delayed healing wounds. In animal skin injury models, the results of comparative experiments of asiatica acid, hydroxycasiatica acid and asiaticoside showed that:
All of them can increase the dry weight of healing tissue, DNA, total protein synthesis and collagen synthesis. According to the pharmacokinetic results, asiaticoside and asiaticoside have the strongest bioactivity, and asiaticoside can effectively stimulate the synthesis of mucopolysaccharide and collagen at a very low dose. The results suggest that TECA can reduce local inflammation and myofibroblast production by acting on tissue cells, significantly increase the synthesis of extracellular matrix components including collagen during healing and remodeling, and ultimately accelerate the epithelialization of skin wounds.
